The Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Association of San Antonio welcomed designer India Hicks to the San Antonio Country Club for its Twenty-Ninth Annual Tablescapes Luncheon, benefitting the Children’s Bereavement Center while celebrating creativity, community, and the causes that connect us all.
The San Antonio alumnae association of Kappa Kappa Gamma hosted its 29th annual Tablescapes Luncheon recently at the San Antonio Country Club, an event built around a simple and delightful premise: designers and businesses come together to decorate a table, transforming the dining room into a gallery of creativity, color, and personal expression. Guests moved through the room taking it all in, each tablescape a small world of its own, before settling in for a morning of community and purpose.
This year’s table designers represented some of San Antonio’s most beloved local businesses and creative voices. Leading the roster as Fleur de Lis Designers were Kelly Wade Jewelers and Alegra Volpe Interiors, joined by dozens of contributors across Diamond, Sapphire, and Pearl designer tiers, including Belles & Beaux, Lila Malone Interiors, Trinity Flowers, Susan Shaw Jewelry and Loom & Co., and many more. The collective result was a room that felt distinctly, proudly San Antonio. Adding to the creative energy, beloved local artist Franco Mondini-Ruiz was there as the featured artist, selling his work and painting portraits live in support of the cause.
The featured guest was India Hicks, a designer, entrepreneur, and storyteller who has built a career around the belief that beauty and purpose belong in the same room. She has spent decades at the intersection of design and storytelling, with a gift for making any gathering feel like a conversation worth having. A seated luncheon followed her presentation, sponsored by Lisa and Mike Kelleher, with event chairs Clara Kelleher Ostrander and Meredith Muecke Howard bringing the same generosity of spirit that defined the morning.
The heart of the event was its cause. The luncheon benefited the Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas, the sole provider of grief support programs for children through young adulthood in the region, serving thousands of children, caregivers, and families every year. Through peer support groups, counseling, grief camps, and school-based programs, the Center gives families the tools to move forward together. Every service is offered free of charge.
The morning also honored the Kellyanne Elizabeth Lytal Memorial Foundation, established in memory of eight-year-old Kellyanne Lytal, who lost her life in the July 4 Camp Mystic flood. Rooted in kindness, joy, and a little sparkle, the foundation supports charitable causes that reflected who Kellyanne was at her core. Her foundation is proof that love, when given direction, can become something everlasting.
